Fermilab Natural Areas
About Us
Fermilab Natural Areas was formed in 2006
- to study and restore Fermilab's unique combination of ecological communities
- to inform and enrich local residents' knowledge of Fermilab, and
- to contribute to the preservation of global biodiversity
From 2006 through early 2010, FNA was organized as part of Fermi Research Alliance, LLC, a not-for-profit charitable organization. FNA was incorporated as a corporation in the State of Illinois in October 2008 and received its 501©(3) charitable exemption in early 2010. FNA operations rely on various sources of support, including grants and individual donations.
